The Whiskey Heights Equine program is a family owned and run business located in Ellensburg, WA. We believe the horse teaches us wisdom and how to live a fulfilling life. It is our desire to help you build a lasting, harmonious relationship with your horse. We give all the glory to God and credit to our mentors Buck Brannaman, Joel Connor, Ricky and Sarah Quinn, and Issac Johnson.
Dalton grew up in Ellensburg, Washington, where he spent time working on his family’s registered angus ranch. Most summers he experienced the wild frontier of Alaska with his father fly fishing and hunting. His time spent in Alaska sparked his interest in aviation. Dalton attended Big Bend Community College where he graduated with a Commercial Pilot’s license and an Associate’s Degree in Science.
Building on his ranching experience, during college Dalton worked for the Beard Ranch where he was exposed to horsemen Kyler Beard, Peter Campbell, Joel Conner and Ricky Quinn. During this time, he discovered his passion for horsemanship. After graduating from college, Dalton pursued a childhood dream and strengthened his connection with nature as he hiked across the country on the Pacific Crest Trail. Upon return from his PCT journey he began working at the Lazy U in Hershey, Nebraska with Ricky Quinn. Here he absorbed an abundance of knowledge in all things of ranching and horsemanship. Today Dalton runs Whiskey Heights Equine in his home town of Ellensburg Washington with his wife Caitlyn and daughters Blaque and Sonora. He is dedicated to being the best father, husband, horseman and disciple of Christ.
Caitlyn grew up in Cle Elum Washington where she enjoyed most of her time outdoors with her family’s animals. Her passion for riding horses began at an early age. Most afternoons were spent practicing for rodeos with her older sister Josilyn. After high school Caitlyn attended Central Washington University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. During her time at CWU she completed a summer internship with PACCAR Parts where she went on to work full time as a Dedicated Fleet Account Manager. While in this role, Caitlyn gained experience communicating with a variety of personalities and became resourceful to conquer any task at hand. All the time she continued to learn and grow as a horsewoman. She soon decided to pursue her dream of riding and training horses full time with Dalton at Whiskey Heights Equine.
Caitlyn has been captivated by the emotional and spiritual side of horses for many years. She continues to grow the program by learning more about equine anatomy, physiology and how eastern and western medicine philosophies intersect to support equine health.
